A guest page is a single web page for one booking. The guest opens it on their phone and finds everything about their stay in one place: how to get there, how the house works, what they have signed, and what they can add. It replaces the PDF nobody opens, the binder on the kitchen counter, and most of the WhatsApp questions you answer every week.
What goes on it
Getting there
- The address and a map pin that opens in their maps app
- Photos of the turn-off, the gate and where to park - the part maps get wrong
- Check-in time, and how they get in: lockbox, key safe or someone meeting them
The house
- Wi-Fi name and password, at the top
- How the air conditioning, hot water and pool work
- Rubbish, recycling and what not to flush
- House rules, in a friendly voice
The paperwork, for direct bookings
- The rental agreement to sign online before arrival
- The security deposit, held on their card - see deposits and agreements
Extras
- The local services you trust - a chef, a driver, a boat trip - with a price and a request button
Leaving
- Checkout time and the few things you want done before they go
When to send it
Send the link about a week before arrival, and again the day before. Guests read it when they plan the drive, and again in the car.
Guests who booked on a platform
Airbnb allows optional guides that help during the stay, but not sign-ups, contact collection through its messages, or offers to book elsewhere. For platform guests, keep the page about the stay itself. What Airbnb allows sets out the rules.
